Paul Hauk papers, 1942-2002.

Historical narratives, photographs, maps, clippings, and evaluation reports on Colorado ski areas including Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Buttermilk Mountain, Coal Basin, Copper Mountain, Eldora, Hayden Peak, Haystack Mountain, Keystone, Little Annie, Marble, Meadow Mountain, Montezuma Basin, Redstone, Snowmass, Sunlight, and Vail. Also includes monographs about developed and proposed ski areas in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Arizona and history of the Marble (Colorado) ski area (1963-1984). Additional materials include photographs of the 1960 Winter Olympics Avalance Team and correspondence concering the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at Squaw Valley, Calif.; binders of negatives of mountain areas (1960-1969) as well as negatives of family photos (1942-1957); news articles and avalanche accident reports; correspondence related to Dercum's claim to have founded Arapahoe Basin.

Paul I. Hauk, was born in Denver, Colorado. Graduated from Colorado State University in 1937. Employee of the United States Forest Service. Supervisory Forester on the White River National Forest at Glenwood Springs from June 1957 to January 1977. Inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame in 1982.
